Reader Wants Henning to Return Next Season

I’m probably one of the few fans in San Diego who feel that Chargers’ Coach Dan Henning should be retained for one more year. Let him finish the job.

Consider the facts: The team has played admirably considering it has a very young and inexperienced quarterback and has been without its star receiver much of the year. The team has played hard and has been very competitive, with a few exceptions, despite being “bounced” early from any playoff picture. The team is a few key players and another years experience away from being very successful. The draft and some key Plan B acquisitions, along with the continuity of the same coaching staff headed by Henning, should solve the Chargers’ woes of 1991. Give him the chance!
