A sailor who disappeared Christmas Day while swimming near Ensenada is presumed drowned, Navy officials said Friday.
Larry S. Tiglao, a Petty Officer 3rd Class assigned to the aircraft carrier Ranger, was on leave with his brother and three friends when he disappeared at 4:30 p.m., about 50 feet from shore in water 4 feet deep, said Chief Petty Officer Patricia E. Neal. Tiglao’s age was unavailable.
Mexican authorities were notified minutes after his disappearance, and they are continuing to search for his body.
Tiglao’s home was listed as St. Louis, Mo.
