Nevada Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa says her office will investigate allegations that a Los Angeles ticket broker bought more than 100 sets of choice Final Four basketball tickets from a UNLV employee in 1990.

Del Papa said she was assigning Robert Pike, her chief investigator, to look into allegation the tickets were sold despite a strict ticket policy enacted after problems over distribution of Final Four tickets in 1990.

Sean Foster, UNLV’s student manager, said he bought the tickets for a friend through Debbie Barrentine, the school’s ticket manager.

UNLV legal counsel Brad Booke said that Barrentine has admitted selling 40 tickets to Foster, but denied they were sold for more than face value.
