President of Albania Suffers a Heart Attack

Albanian President Ramiz Alia has had a heart attack but his condition is good, Albanian Radio reported Thursday.

The radio, monitored by the British Broadcasting Corp., quoted a Health Ministry statement as saying that Alia, 66, suffered the attack early Wednesday.

Alia became president in 1985 on the death of Stalinist leader Enver Hoxha, who had ruled the Balkan country for more than 40 years.
