Keating’s Son Out of Jail: The son of Charles H. Keating Jr. posted $150,000 bail and is out of jail, three weeks after his indictment on federal charges. The Paradise Valley, Ariz., resident had been in custody since Dec. 12 when he, his father and three others surrendered after being named in a 77-count racketeering indictment in connection with the failure of Irvine-based Lincoln Savings & Loan. The younger Keating, 36, was released from the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles late Thursday, said Associate Warden Gary Katsel. Paul Abrams, the younger Keating’s attorney, said 20 friends and family members, in “a real group effort,” managed to come up with $90,000 in cash and $60,000 worth of property to secure Keating’s bail. The elder Keating was released on Christmas Eve after family members posted $300,000 in cash and property to secure his release.
