Video Game Company Urges Restraint: It isn’t often that a company urges people to use its product less, but that’s what Nintendo video game vendor Hudson Soft USA is doing with it’s new “responsible play” program. The company will produce point-of-sale materials encouraging children and their parents to limit game-play to one hour a day. “We want to get the message out that video games are just one of life’s pleasures and that there are other important and fun things they should investigate,” said Hudson Soft USA marketing manager Kevin Sullivan. But the campaign won’t be without promotional value: The message will be carried by “Master Higgins,” the star character in several Hudson Soft USA games.
