Share

A Thousand Oaks woman was sentenced to eight months in federal prison and three years probation for putting $96,000 into fictitious bank accounts for her personal use, federal officials said Tuesday.

Cynthia Price, 32, a former operations officer for First Nationwide Bank of Thousand Oaks, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge David V. Kenyon to bank fraud and embezzlement charges.

Price was charged last October with three counts of violating bank fraud statutes for selecting accounts, creating fictitious loan files in the names of the account holders, and then forging signatures of bank loan officers, officials said.

Price has made restitution for the losses to the bank, officials said.
