Migrants, Immigrants

In reacting to the letters (Jan. 15) that commented on your Jan. 6 article “Calculating the Impact of California Immigrants,” I would like to point out to your readers that Gov. Pete Wilson himself, on a recent national TV network show, said that “immigrants (from other countries) are less of a problem than migrants from other states.”

Our society and its problems would be greatly helped if people did not rush to conclusions that are based on old myths and stereotypes.
