Pop Album Chart : Garth Brooks Riding High--Again

Share

Pop-country singer Garth Brooks has two albums in the Billboard magazine pop album Top Five and three albums in the Top 25. His recent “Ropin’ the Wind” slipped a notch to No. 2 but his previous one, on the chart 72 weeks, jumped from No. 10 to No. 5. His recent TV special triggered sales of his first album, on the chart for 91 weeks, making it three in the Top 25--a truly remarkable achievement. The George Michael-Elton John duet, “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” is the new No. 1 pop single.

* The rap-heavy soundtrack from “Juice” is doing good business in record stores. In its third week, it leaped from No. 52 to No. 22.
