Charges Dropped in Porter Ranch Sex Case

Share

Prosecutors dropped charges Thursday against two men arrested at an alleged “swingers” sex club in a Porter Ranch home, saying they were not directly involved in the club’s operation.

Michael James Samson, 44, the bartender, and Andre Lebel, 61, the doorman, were “small-time characters,” and charges against them were dismissed to speed up the court case, Deputy City Atty. Henry Burr said.

Prosecutors allege the club was organized by Robert Dow, his wife, Sharon, and dancer Judy Kirk, who were charged with violating zoning, building and fire laws. Kirk is to be arraigned today in Los Angeles Municipal Court. The Dows are scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 9.

The “swingers” club offered sexual encounters to couples who paid a $50 admission fee, prosecutors said. Police raided the club in May after a three-month undercover investigation. The Dows are free on bail.
