Camel Ad Presents Nothing Much to Mind

After having read the article, “Furor Over Smoking Camel” (Dec. 11), I am convinced we’ve gone from the ridiculous to the sublime.

I cannot imagine being so weak-minded that a character in an ad could cause me to rush right out and buy a pack of Camel cigarettes; nor could a catchy logo cause me to purchase a box of cereal or a gorgeous hunk move me to purchase a pack of Marlboros.
