CAMARILLO : Budget Could Mean Higher Sewer Fees

Share

If Gov. Pete Wilson’s proposed budget passes, Camarillo homeowners will have to pay $52 more a year to replace tax money that will be diverted from the sanitary district to schools, City Manager William Little said.

Little told the City Council this week that residents would have to make up for lost property tax revenue now used to operate and pay for the waste water treatment plant.

The district received $535,000 for the fund in 1990-91, he said.

Mayor Stanley J. Daily called Wilson’s proposal bad government. He pointed out that funds also would be diverted to education from the Camrosa Water District, so water and sewer rates would increase for Camarillo homeowners.
