Laughing With the President: A planned telecast lampooning President Bush’s State of the Union address on Tuesday moved forward over the weekend, thanks to the threat of a lawsuit. Comedy Central, the cable comedy network, took on ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC, which had denied the network access to a coverage pool. But the four networks voted 2-1 with one abstention Friday to let the cable network in. The Comedy Central telecast will be anchored by NBC personality Bob Costas, with live commentary by comedians Richard Belzer, Will Durst and Al Franken and writers Joe Queenan and ex-National Lampoon editor Billy Kimball.
