Mahony on Childbearing

I enjoyed reading the column by Cardinal Mahony.

I do not believe in unlimited abortion, neither do I believe in the unrestricted growth in the world’s population with all of its attendant evils. The bulk of this increase is in that segment of our society where, in our lopsided economy, parents cannot give their children all the advantages that are available.

I would like to have Cardinal Mahony answer one question: What practical plan do you propose to mitigate this disastrous unbalanced trend besides war, floods, earthquakes and pestilence?
