Human Rights Concept Is a Historical One

The commentary by Max Bena-videz (“Time to Expose Dark Side of Columbus Myth,” Dec. 19) was a long-overdue call to realism in American history. It is time to recognize that the Americas were full of advanced and diverse pre-Columbian cultures--not just the usual Aztec-Maya-Inca triad.
