Deployment of LAPD Officers
Regarding your article about priorities in the LAPD, let me add one. While rapists, murderers and gangs terrorize the city, why do police officers waste their time arresting traffic offenders? I do not mean drunk drivers, who should be put away, but people arrested for traffic warrants. A person arrested for a $200 traffic warrant takes anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours to be booked, which means it takes one-fourth of the officer’s shift to book one offender, who will be given time-served in court!
Let’s have a moratorium on traffic warrant arrests and see what happens to the serious arrests.
