DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —
The all-Japanese Nissan R91 prototype regained the lead during the ninth hour Saturday and held the lead in the 24-hour race at Daytona International Speedway early Sunday.
The Nissan R90 of Geoff Brabham, Chip Robinson and Bob Earl, which had moved to the front while the Japanese car was making a long pit stop, left the race because of a seized engine.
The Japanese car was being driven by Masahiro Hasemi, Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Toshio Suzuki.
