Customs Begins Enforcing Tuna Embargo: The U.S. Customs Service has begun to enforce a embargo on imports of yellow-fin tuna from 20 countries where processors use tuna that had been caught by methods harmful to dolphins, the agency announced. The action was taken at the direction of the Justice Department and the National Marine Fisheries Service to comply with a federal court order. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California had ordered the government to take actions to halt the importation of tuna that had been harvested by a method that does not protect the dolphin.
