UCLA Drops to No. 4 in Poll; USC Is No. 16

UCLA, which had been No. 2 for six consecutive weeks, fell to fourth in the Associated Press college basketball poll Monday as a result of its loss to USC at home Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Trojans (14-3) moved up from No. 25 to No. 16. It is their highest ranking since they were No. 13 in March, 1975.

Duke (17-0) has been No. 1 in all 12 of this season’s polls, the last three as a unanimous choice. Oklahoma State (20-0) moved up one place to second and Kansas (16-1) went from fifth to third. UCLA is 15-1.

Arkansas, which had been seventh, rounded out the top five and was followed by Indiana, Arizona, Ohio State, North Carolina and Connecticut.

Michigan State led the second 10, followed by Missouri, Syracuse, Tulane, Michigan, USC, Nevada Las Vegas, Alabama, Kentucky and North Carolina Charlotte.

The final five were Oklahoma, Louisiana State, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Texas El Paso.
