Breast Implants

Share

The judgmental article by Jane Doe (Commentary, Jan. 21) concerning breast implants for breast cancer victims was biased and uninformed. As a victim of breast cancer I was, unknowingly, operated on by someone who was educated as an osteopath and who had failed the test for certification.

I was left permanently disabled in constant pain from injured nerves, and the skin was pulled in so badly I was stooped over. I could not sit or stand erect, and kept falling, which required many doctor and hospital visits.

I finally found a very caring, extremely capable surgeon, who did reconstruction and used an implant to pull the skin out. The results were dramatic, and I regained an upright position and relief from the pain. Ten years later, I have no trouble with the implant.

It is extremely important to realize the very vital service that implants play in restoring balance to those who are unnecessarily injured.
