A Poignant Glimpse of Newspaper’s Past

Rip Rense’s article on the passing of time, Charlie Grimes and the old Herald Examiner newsroom gave breadth and meaning to the places and people we’ve become inured to in modern life (“Ghosts of Past Haunt Deserted City Room,” Jan. 21).

It’s a sad and beautiful world--made a little less sad by someone who notes its smaller events with such poignant detail. Thanks for printing such a moving piece.
