Loneliness

Re “Solitude Can Be Hazardous to Health, Research Finds,” Jan. 22:

The latest findings presume to tell us something new; that one’s heart fails due to loneliness. To also add to that, with the fact that one also perishes sooner if making less than $10,000 per year is ill-timed! So many, now without any sustenance, get little cheer from such heartless advice! Statistics have no pulse! Period!

It seems as inane as advice given to me by an old lady. It’s akin to the above: I told her that I could not drive for medical reasons. The reply: “Where’s your chauffeur?” Such myopia is worse than death.
