Man in Wheelchair Takes a 150-Foot Bungee Leap

ALBUQUERQUE —
An engineer paralyzed from the waist down since a car crash 10 years ago took a bungee-jumping plunge while strapped in his wheelchair.
As onlookers cheered, Brian Van Leeuwen wheeled his chair backward to the edge of a 150-foot-high platform and rolled off, attached to an elastic cord. He was held in the wheelchair by straps and duct tape.
