THE LOST COMMANDOS
While their story may be tragic, the lost commandos should not be idealized. These young North Vietnamese men were paid and trained by a foreign country’s spy agency, the CIA, and then went back to North Vietnam to spy on their own country and commit terrorist acts. Engaging in treason, committing murder and terrorism at the behest of a foreign power sure seems a strange way to “do something for your country.”
