With Design Cites Onetime Charges in Quarterly Loss

With Design in Mind International Inc., a Chatsworth maker of novelty gift items, reported a loss of $260,084 for its fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31, despite nearly doubling its sales to $2.02 million.

A year earlier, With Design earned $36,874 on sales of $1.03 million.

With Design said its results for the latest quarter were hurt by several onetime charges, including the scrapping of some of its inventory, an increase in its reserves for product returns and a charge related to the bankruptcy of one of its customers.
