Tracy Murray, UCLA’s No. 2 scorer and rebounder the last two seasons, said he will remain in school through his senior year.

“I’m coming back,” said Murray, hoping to end speculation that he might make himself available for the NBA draft this summer. “I’ve never said I was going out. My parents, or nobody in my family, ever said I was going out. It was just a big rumor that was floating around because I was playing well at the time.”

Murray’s play during the first six weeks of the season again sparked speculation, ongoing almost from the day he enrolled at UCLA out of Glendora High, that he might leave school early.

“We don’t know what’s going to happen,” his father, Bob, said last month. “But I’ve heard talk from a lot of reliable sources that he could be a lottery pick because he’s the best shooter in the country at his size.”

Murray has made 52.9% of his 102 three-point shots this season while averaging 20.2 points and 6.6 rebounds. In UCLA’s last 12 games, however, he has averaged 17.5 points and 5.5 rebounds.
