There are official Olympic candy bars, Olympic cars, even an Olympic credit card. And now, the Olympic hairdresser.
The San Rafael, Calif.-based Supercuts Inc. chain said it will supply "hair salon services" to the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team--"officially," of course.
Supercuts will open a shop at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in March. Athletes will get "complimentary haircutting, styling and consultation."
Supercuts' no-appointments philosophy apparently warmed the follicles of the Olympic brass.
John Krimsky Jr., U.S. Olympic Committee deputy secretary general, said that "when you consider the training schedule of the athletes, the simple task of scheduling a haircut is a major commitment."
