Saliva Test May Be Used in AIDS Detection

TOKYO —
Japanese researchers have found an HIV test for saliva that may replace blood tests as a way of detecting AIDS, a Japanese daily newspaper reported Friday.
The Yomiuri Shimbun reported that AIDS Research Center staff at the National Institute of Health, led by Namiko Yoshihara, would report on the discovery at a conference in Japan in June.
