Glendale : Multiunit Zoning Altered
The City Council Tuesday introduced several modifications to its zoning ordinance to allow architects greater flexibility in the design of multiunit dwellings.
Among other changes, the new ordinance would convert some setback requirements to open space, which can be placed differently on a lot. Developers who build more than one unit per 2,250 square feet of lot area on 90-foot-wide lots could place 900 square feet of open space anywhere adjacent to a street, instead of being required to use it exclusively to set the building back.
