Playing in his first NHL game since leading the Unified Team to the Olympic gold medal, Igor Kravchuk scored to break a third-period tie and lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night at Chicago.

Signed eight hours earlier, the former member of Moscow’s Central Red Army squad blasted a 35-foot slap shot past Red Wing goaltender Tim Chevaldae at the 8:44 mark to snap a 2-2 tie.

Brent Sutter scored an insurance goal with 50 seconds left.

The victory extended Chicago’s home winning streak to 10 games (7-0-3) and broke Detroit’s six-game winning streak.

It was the 17th career three-goal game for Hull, who leads the NHL with 62 goals in 64 games. He took the scoring lead from Wayne Gretzky with 97 points. He has never had a four-goal game.

Boston 4, Toronto 2--Dave Poulin, who missed the first 61 games of the season with abdominal injury, scored in his first game back as the Bruins defeated the Maple Leafs at Boston to sweep their three-game season series.

Poulin and Dave Ellett scored in a 1-1 first period, but Boston took control on second-period goals by Steve Leach and Bobby Carpenter.

Philadelphia 3, Calgary 0--Rookie Dominic Roussel registered his first NHL shutout and the Flyers blanked the fading Flames at Calgary.
