The Power, the Glory, the Reaction : THE REAL THING . . .

Share
"T he Power, the Glory, the Glitz," the Feb. 16 profile of Marianne Williamson by Times staff writer Terry Pristin, has produced a large response from readers, about equally divided between praise and criticism of the controversial lecturer. A sampling:

I would rather see Williamson tap some of those generous Hollywood sources to support her ministry than have her continually calling upon those of us non-”Hollywood” types sitting in the congregation to give more and more money--like some other, more-well-known ministers have a history of doing.

While she may have a following of some high-profile individuals, I find she is still available to anyone who is searching for spiritually based answers to some of life’s problems.

Clearly Marianne puts her feet to her prayers in all the good work she does for those living with AIDS and other life-challenging illnesses, and if she needs to apply her strength and showmanship to forward her efforts, then amen and God bless her!
