WAILEA, Hawaii — Dawn Coe won for the first time in nine years on the LPGA Tour, making birdies on two of last four holes to win the LPGA Women’s Kemper Open.
“It feels awesome,” Coe said after a four-under-par 68 to win by a stroke over Dottie Mochrie. “I wanted to win so much, I just wanted to know what it felt like. Now I know--it’s great.”
The 31-year-old Canadian finished the 54-hole tournament 13 under at 275, barely holding off Mochrie, whose final-round 64 set a course record at Maui’s Wailea resort.
