BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Stevens, Finley Are Making Progress
First baseman Lee Stevens, recovering from a sore wrist, took regular batting practice for the first time this spring. Chuck Finley, recovering from toe surgery, pitched from a mound for a second time without pain.
“The two people we were really concerned about early haven’t had any setbacks,” Manager Buck Rodgers said.
Stevens, slated as Wally Joyner’s replacement, hit against an Angel coach and expects to face Angel pitching next week.
Jose Gonzalez worked out after reporting late because of visa problems.
