Kaleidoscope Complex Approved: Hollywood will come to Orange County with a vengeance in the form of an entertainment-retail complex that would include a 16-screen cinema and an array of high-end restaurants. The complex has been approved by the Mission Viejo Planning Commission. Few residents showed up at a Monday night hearing on the proposed 350,000-square-foot mall. After 90 minutes of discussion about traffic and parking, the project was approved unanimously. The Kaleidoscope complex will be at Crown Valley Parkway next to Interstate 5. Representatives of Pacific Development, the Los Angeles builder for the project, said no timetable has been established for groundbreaking. The company declined to identify tenants being considered.
