Our government insists that Libya send to the United States the two Libyans Washington claims are responsible for the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. So adamant is the United States that it will not even consider Libya’s suggestion to have the case heard before the World Court of the United Nations.

However, consider, if you will, what our government’s response would be if Libya insisted that Washington send to Libya the men responsible for bombing Libya in 1986 and killing about the 40 people, including the daughter of Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi. And there’s no question about culpability in that case as there definitely is in the Pan Am case. (Earlier, the U.S. government was just as certain and vocal that the bombers were Palestinians based in Syria.)
