Begin Gets Pacemaker After Health Worsens

JERUSALEM —
Former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin received a pacemaker late Thursday to stabilize pulse and heart irregularities, Army Radio said.
Doctors at Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital, where Begin, 78, was admitted two days ago after a heart attack, implanted the pacemaker after his condition deteriorated Thursday night, the radio said. Begin’s condition stabilized but remains serious, it said.
