2nd Suspect in Kidnaping of Cypress Boy Surrenders to FBI
A second suspect in the kidnaping of a 6-year-old Cypress boy last week surrendered to FBI agents Monday in Arizona.
Officials picked up Aaron Espinoza, 27, about noon at his attorney’s office in Mesa, Ariz., where he resides, FBI spokesman Jack Callahan said.
Espinoza and his brother, Michael Espinoza, 21, are accused of abducting Daniel James Lans from his grandmother’s home. Aaron Espinoza is married to the boy’s natural mother, Nancy Espinoza.
Michael Espinoza was arrested Thursday night after an anonymous caller told authorities he and Daniel were staying in Graham County, more than 150 miles east of Mesa. The boy was brought back to Cypress Friday. He was unharmed.
Aaron Espinoza was brought before a U.S. magistrate in Phoenix Monday and was released on his own recognizance, Callahan said.
