From Staff and Wire Reports

Lee McRae, the world indoor record-holder at 55 meters, was barred from competing with the U.S. track team against Britain after The Athletics Congress determined he had sexually harassed a female athlete, TAC announced Thursday.

McRae was suspended for only the one meet, held last Saturday at Birmingham, England.

A three-member hearing panel issued its ruling March 1. But TAC spokesman Pete Cava said TAC’s main office in Indianapolis was not informed of the decision until Thursday.

McRae was accused of verbal sexual harassment, said Doriane Lambelet, a Durham, N.C., lawyer who chaired the hearing panel. She declined to elaborate.
