Itsallgreektome Injures Leg; Surgery Today

Itsallgreektome, the male grass champion of 1990, has suffered a cannon bone injury in his right front leg and will undergo surgery today.

Trainer Wally Dollase estimated that the 5-year-old gelding will be sidelined for about six months.

Itsallgreektome may have been injured while running second to Fly Till Dawn in the Arcadia Handicap on March 7 at Santa Anita, Dollase said. The injury was discovered Thursday when Itsallgreektome was favoring the leg after working five furlongs at Hollywood Park.

Itsallgreektome has earned more than $1.9 million but has had trouble winning consistently since his championship year. The Arcadia was his fourth consecutive second-place finish.
