Apple to Unveil Printer, Scanner for Windows World: Apple Computer Inc., looking to break into the mainstream of corporate computing, will introduce a laser printer and a picture scanner that works with Windows software offered by an archrival. Apple has made a concerted effort the past year to sell its Macintosh line of computers and peripheral products in the office market dominated by IBM-standard software and hardware. Apple will begin shipping next month the Personal LaserWriter NTR printer that can be manipulated from Windows picture-based menus. It has a suggested list price of $2,199. Also being shipped next month will be the Apple OneScanner for Windows that will sell for $1,299. The device scans a black and white picture and feeds the image into a computer. The image can be incorporated into letters, notices or presentation graphics.
