Mexico Literacy Gains

MEXICO CITY —
The number of Mexicans who cannot read and write has fallen to 12.4% of the population from 17% since 1980, the national census agency says. In spite of the progress, at least 6 million Mexicans over 15 are still illiterate, it said.
