Associated Press
KUWAIT CITY —
Famed oil firefighter Red Adair will return to Kuwait this week to do more repair work on oil wells, according to press reports Friday.
Adair’s firefighting teams were among the first of 27 from 16 countries that spent eight months capping 732 wells sabotaged by the Iraqis during their seven-month occupation.
The last of the burning wells was capped on Nov. 6. The operation cost an estimated $2 billion.
