This Car Doesn’t Need Trunk; It Has Suitcase

A Mazda employee has built a car that fits in a suitcase.

The 55-pound, three-wheel car was the 1990 winner in the annual creative contest among the company’s 29,800 employees.

When taken out of the suitcase and assembled--which takes only seconds--the car can cover 12 miles on the gas in its half-gallon tank. It is just for show, though; it is not allowed on roads.

The car, which cost less than $750 to build, has a tiny,33cc engine that is started with a tug on a rope, like a lawn mower engine.
