Douglas-Taiwan Deal Decision Due: The Taiwan government will decide soon whether to approve Taiwanese investors’ plans to acquire a stake in the commercial aircraft business of McDonnell Douglas Corp., a senior official said. Vice Economics Minister Yang Shih-chien said his ministry expects to receive a report from an official evaluation team and relay the findings to Parliament later this month. The report was due late last month but was delayed because of some changes in the design of McDonnell Douglas’ MD-12 tri-jet, a new type of long-range passenger jet.
