Nordstrom Adopts Logo: Nordstrom, which has remained one of the stronger department store chains by emphasizing customer service, has decided to adopt a new, more upscale logo:

The stylized N was chosen to give the Seattle-based chain a more dignified look. But despite the enhanced sophistication, there are no immediate plans to change all the signs on the chain’s flagship store at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, said spokeswoman Linda Luna.

The change will be gradual over the next couple years, according to the company. All the current stocks of shopping bags, business forms and stationery will be depleted for ecological as well as cost reasons.
