New Settlers Sought for Occupied Territories

JERUSALEM —
Jewish settlers Wednesday began a government-backed campaign to increase the Jewish population in the occupied territories by more than 70,000 within a year.
Peace activists said the need for the campaign indicates the government is having trouble selling and renting the 10,000 apartments and mobile homes added to the 142 settlements in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the past two years.
