* Karl Tunberg; Oscar Nominee for ‘Ben-Hur’

Karl Tunberg, 83, who was nominated for an Academy Award for scripting the Hollywood epic film “Ben-Hur.” A native of Spokane, Wash., Tunberg moved his family to England 20 years ago. His scripts include the 1940 musical “Down Argentine Way” with Betty Grable, and the 1942 film about the Glenn Miller band, “Orchestra Wives.” He adapted the Lew Wallace novel “Ben-Hur” for the screen in 1959. On April 4 in London.
