World IN BRIEF : JAPAN : Japanese Politician Stabbed to Death

Shinjiro Yamamura, a leading Japanese politician, was stabbed to death by his mentally disturbed daughter, police said. Yamamura, 58, was chairman of the budget committee of the lower house of Parliament. Police said he was stabbed with a knife in the neck and chest by his second daughter Kiriyo, 24. She was arrested soon afterwards. Police said Kiriyo had frequently received psychiatric treatment.
