Abortion Controversy

Share

I read Sally Quinn’s article with great interest (Commentary, April 5). Abortion is not and never has been an easy answer. I am seven weeks pregnant and have been bleeding for the last two days. My doctor recommended bed rest. This is not easy when one has an active 2-year-old. My husband and I both want this second pregnancy and I will do all I can to save it. However, if it looks like a miscarriage is imminent, I may have to take steps to ensure my health and safety, which may or may not include a “D&C;”. My questions are: Will my access to a clinic be blocked if I need a possible lifesaving (mine) procedure? Will I be called a murderer because I had a spontaneous abortion (miscarriage)?

A legal abortion ensures that a woman will be able to have a child when she wants. An illegal abortion ensures that a woman may possibly never have a child again.
