After all the bloodshed in the now-defunct Yugoslavia, the U.S. has finally decided to follow 50 other nations in recognizing Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina (April 8)! It’s anticlimatic in that it is long overdue! Many lives could have been saved if we had moved sooner in recognizing these republics.
